Jessica St. Clair, Founder
Alarmed by the amount of impact everyday living has on young children – particularly as more and more research demonstrates that modern toxins are leading to delayed or impaired mental and physical development, and in the worst cases, causing diseases like cancer in the very young; Jessica decided she had to act. She started Green Families to share her experience and enthusiasm about all things eco with other families and individuals.
Jessica sees non-toxic living as the key to healthy development and has always been passionate about children’s issues and certainly to that end, holistic and green living, organic and healthy foods, and resource sustainability. With undergraduate and master degrees in psychology, it was therefore not a surprise that when her son Henry was born, her interests and life’s work became more than a calling but a personal mission.
When preparing for her son's arrival, despite her background and interest, she was quite overwhelmed by the amount of information out there, the inconsistency of the information and then of course the availability of the products once she found credible ones. Jessica believes Green Families will be useful not only for the sake of the children, but simply because parents just don’t have any time on top of everything else they’re doing to worry about what hand soap is toxin-free. Through Green Families, Jessica hopes to bridge the large gap between resources/valid information and everyday consumers.
